Even though the Food Pantry is an all-volunteer effort, there are requirements that help assure safety of the donated food, including appropriate storage, handling, expiration dates, etc. The Food Security Coalition of Midcoast Maine (of which we are a member) recently offered training and certification. Luke McFayden successfully completed this training and is certified. Luke, in addition to being a member of the Board of Directors, trains new volunteers and food safety is an on-going part of that training. Congratulations, Luke!
