The Bowdoinham Food Pantry will be open for donations on Saturdays 10 am to 12 noon. Thank you for helping us and your community during this challenging time!

Our food pantry is feeding a record number of people and we have to shop in the same stores as everyone else to supplement what we can’t get from larger food banks, gleaners , donations from individuals and donations from grocery stores (this has declined as the stores are having record sales/selling out).

It is harder to find what we need. As you all know, quantities may be limited. One way you individually can help is when you are out shopping, please pick up an extra item for the food pantry. Here’s what we need:

  • eggs
  • cereal
  • pasta and pasta sauce
  • canned beans
  • soup
  • ground beef
  • beef or chicken broth (15 oz cans)
  • peanut butter
  • crackers
  • applesauce
  • coffee
  • pancake mix

This will help with our shortages as well as make it easier for the volunteers who are out shopping (and getting “the look” when other shoppers think they are hoarding). Thank you for any support on this front! (And please remember that we cannot use expired items.)

The Bowdoinham Food Pantry runs purely from donations.  The donations come in the form of money, in-kind donations, food drives and more!  If you are interested in sending a donation to the pantry, checks can be make out to the Bowdoinham Food Pantry and mailed to P.O. Box 246, Bowdoinham, ME 04008.

In-kind donations can be dropped off at the bench outside pantry, and we are there accepting items on Wednesdays from 2:00 – 3:00 and on Saturdays from 10:00 – noon.  If you want to make a donation outside of these hours, you can drop things off at the Town Office, the lobby of the Post Office, or arrange a drop off during non-working hours.
